CSTS

To reduce the number of accidents and injuries in BC's construction industry, employers must ensure that all workers are trained in basic workplace safety. The Construction Safety Training System assists employers by offering flexible training options. CSTS equips workers with practical skills and proven prevention strategies to stay safe on the job.

The Construction Safety Training System (CSTS-09) was developed by the Alberta Construction Safety Association (ACSA). It is a web-based program consisting of 15 training modules. The program is designed to provide individual workers with a solid base of knowledge about workplace safety. The emphasis is on workplace hazards, and workers are guided through the correct response in each situation. The web-based training allows participants to learn at thier own pace and to test thier knowledge through interactive questions and scenarios.

The CSTS program is divided into 15 training modules. Each lesson includes a study session, review session and a test section. The program is intended for individual construction industry workers, especially young workers, but may be of interest to new supervisors, joint health and  safety committee members, worker health and safety representatives, and business owners or operators who wish to improve the health and safe knowledge in thier work place.

After completing the CSTS program, participants will be able to: recognize potential construction workplace hazards, identify and apply preventitive actions to control or eliminate hazards, develop safe work procedures, and explain how to work safely in area's exposed to hazards and how to understand basic hazard awareness and protection as it relates to BC safety regulations and standards.

The course is approximatly 4 to 6 hours in duration depending on the knowlege and experience of the worker attending. Please click our training calendar tab to view available training dates at our training center or to book your seat today.
